![]() You are the ultimate authority unless the king shows up. There's literally no one who should be overruling your choices. ![]() Though I'd say part of the game's problem is that you play as lord of the castle. Especially when inconsistancies keep popping up. ![]() Whereas if I'm playing (or reading) a linear story, I can become immersed in the world (provided there's good, logical storytelling) without being yanked out of it when something happens that's inconsistant with the world state I set up. When your words and actions fail to impact the world around you, it takes you (or at least me) out of the game. If you're immersed in the game, then you expect your choices to have an impact because you're in the thick of things. I'd actually argue that the fake "immersion" makes it worse. If you want to save your money for something else, you can watch playthrough videos on YouTube. And the answer to your question depends on whether you're okay if Season 2 never happens (and Season 1 ends in cliffhanger). So if you are a true fan of /, I would still recommend it. I agree with most of this comments but there are something positive I want to add on. It isn't.ĮTA: If you want a linear Telltale Games product, I'd recommend Law & Order, Back to the Future, or Monkey Island. This is the game that made me stop buying Telltale Games.ĮTA: If you want a linear Telltale Games product, I'd recommend Law & Order, Back to the Future, or Monkey Island. Watching this trainwreck is waaaaaay less frustrating than playing it. For example, one character is suddenly on a rack being skinned alive despite the fact that (depending on your previous choice) he should have been standing next to you surrounded by an entire detachment of fighting men. ![]() Characters that you wisely place in reasonably safe situations diabolically teleport into peril for no good reason. The characters do not "remember that" to the point that their amnesia is baffling from an in-story context. If you really like Telltale style games, I'd say Wolf Amoung Us or Walking Dead season 1 are better.īasically, the game ignores every choice you make that doesn't conform to its planned linear narrative. If you really like ASOIAF, I'd say watch this on YouTube Let's Plays. This is one of the worst games Telltale put out. ![]()
